MG-1DM | HIGH SPEED SEAMING FOR MATTRESS COVERS

The Merrow MG-1DM is a railway mounted, one or two-thread butt seaming machine that is used for joining the edges of fire retardant mattress enclosures.

The MG-1DM sews a 3/8″ butted seam at high speed. It can easily be configured to sew with one or two threads and is designed to sew with para-aramid thread for applications that require fire retardant materials. The resulting seam is stronger, neater, and more cost effective than alternative joining methods.

The MG-1DM is designed to be mounted to an automated or semi-automated railway and this “push button” operation reduces high labor costs associated with glueing or tacking. Like all Merrow machines, the MG-1DM is simple to install and maintain, and can be serviced with Merrow’s full line of spare parts.

The MG-1DM is used by the largest mattress companies in the United States to sew the fire retardant sock that encloses foam mattresses. Because the MG-1DM is more efficient and easier to maintain than glueing or tacking applications, it is the method of choice for mattress cover seaming.
